Her innate sense of style and understanding of what real woman want to wear quickly gave the collection momentum, generating big buzz in the Canadian fashion scene. Before long, the collection was available at retailers across Canada.
After several successful years on the fashion runway, Izzy decided to put her collection on hold to pursue a lucrative custom design business servicing the booming Canadian film and television production industry. For the next 10 years, she worked extensively with Canadian and American costume designers and stylists on feature films, television commercials, television movies and series, as well as music videos. This gave the rising fashion designer an invaluable opportunity to hone her skills as both a designer and a creative director. She established a reputation as the best in the business, designing for some of the biggest names in Hollywood.
In the fall of 2000, Izzy re-launched her collection, called THE IZZY CAMILLERI COLLECTION and chose leather as her signature fabric. Once again, she rose to the top of her profession, deftly employing couture techniques on this sleek skin in combination with fur, suede and other well-appointed textiles to create a modern and sophisticated high-end collection. The IZZY CAMILLERI COLLECTION is iconic and provocative in its design, melding sexy, body conscience looks with a sophisticated, European feel that presents the gold standard in workmanship and attention to detail. Izzy Camilleri launched THE IZ COLLECTION in 2009 as the first and only custom collection of adaptable apparel ever created solely for contemporary seated women of style.
